Continue readingWith the new year now unfolding, team Jap Sam Books would like to wish you a bright and inspiring 2026.
This year, a whole series of new books will be published. We look forward to meeting you at book presentations and book fairs in the Netherlands and abroad.
We start with the launch of Temporary Terrain. Marie Reintjes, followed by two book presentations of As One. Lex ter Braak, and lastly the closing event of Activating Common Ground, highlighting the publication Re-Thinking Re-Use, published by Jap Sam Books.
The festive closing event for Activating Common Ground will take place on 22 January 2026, starting at 19.30, at the Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam.
The programme includes an interview with architect Jarrik Ouburg on the project and publication Re-Thinking Re-Use. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the programme in the foyer of the Nieuwe Instituut, through NAi Booksellers.

Continue readingGallery Vriend van Bavink invites you to the opening of Temporary Terrain, a solo exhibition by Marie Reintjes (1990), chosen by the Cultural Fund as the winner of the Sieger White Award on 16 January, 4PM.
The opening also marks the launch of her book of the same name, Temporary Terrain with an essay by Inge Pollet and designed by Arthur Roeloffzen. The book was made possible by the Sieger White Award and published by Jap Sam Publishers.

Continue readingon 7 November the exhibition of The Best Dutch Books Designs 2024 opened at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. We are proud to be included in the selection with two publications: Felwa by Arja Hop and Peter Svenson, chosen by the professional jury as well as by the student jury, and As far as I know, by Caja Boogers, chosen by the professional jury. Both are designed by Edwin van Gelder, Mainstudio. The exhibition runs through 4 January 2026, so pay a visit to experience all of the beautiful publications in real life!
