Partnership with TU Delft OPEN Publishing & release of "The Space of Technicity"

Partnership with TU Delft OPEN Publishing & release of

Jap Sam Books and TU Delft OPEN Publishing would like to announce the expansion of their partnership to co-publish journals and books. These publications will be digitally published by TU Delft OPEN Publishing with an open license. Jap Sam Books is the publisher of the physical copies of these publications, which will be available to customers through its sales channels worldwide. This partnership started out with the academic journal Footprint and will now be accompanied with the Ecologies of Architecture Book Series, with more to come.

Jap Sam Books is an international publishing house that explores developments in architecture, art, philosophy, design, photography and theory as well as the fields that touch them, such as urbanism, landscape, sociology and history.

TU Delft OPEN Publishing, the university publisher of Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) follows a diamond business model and publishes high-standard publications on subjects that are relevant to TU Delft, offering a community-driven, open access communication channel.

Ecologies of Architecture started in 2024. The Ecologies of Architecture Book Series promotes a transdisciplinary approach to architectural thinking and doing by extending its interest to topics that bring together the three ecological registers, namely the environment, the social and the individual. Such an approach accounts for what the built environment will come to be, and speculates about who will become alongside it. The series focuses not only on the why, what and how of architecture, but also on the who, who with and for whom.

The Space of Technicity: Theorising Social, Technical and Environmental Entanglements is now available through download at TU Delft OPEN Publishing, and physical copies are now available for pre-order through our webshop.

Footprint is an academic journal dedicated to publishing architecture and urban research. The journal promotes the creation and development – or revision - of conceptual frameworks and methods of inquiry. It is engaged in creating a body of critical and reflexive texts with a breadth and depth of thought which would enrich the architecture discipline and produce new knowledge, conceptual methodologies and original understandings.

Co-creation of other publications between the parties is in preparation.
